How do I add my organization (vineyard, winery, tasting room) to the paper maps and online map?

To add your organizations (vineyards, wineries, or tasting rooms) to the maps you will first need to create an account by registering on this website. Then just add the organizations you want on the maps to your account.

Do you have to be a member of any association to get on the maps?

No.  All wine organizations are welcome to enter their information.

When I add my organization to my account the website asks me for general information like "varietal" or "hours of operation". Do I have to fill these out and will they be on the paper maps?

You are not required to enter any information about your wine organization other than it's name.  If you do enter the optional information (e.g. hours of operation, etc.) it will not be shown on the paper maps.  The optional information is being collected for display on an online version of the paper maps that will be released later this year.

When I draw my vineyard, should I outline each block or the entire vineyard?

It is your choice.  Some people want to show every varietal that is grown on the vineyard and the location of each block so they will draw out each block of the vineyard.  Others do not want to show that much detail and so will outline the entire vineyard with one shape.

How do I show that my vineyard has more than one varietal planted?

Each vineyard shape you draw can only have one varietal paired with it.  So if you want to show that your vineyard has multiple varietals you need to draw each block seperately.

How do I control how my vineyard/winery/tasting room will be labeld on the maps?

Each vineyard will be labeled with the name exactly as it is entered into the Vineyard / Block Name field of Step 1 of the Map Editor. Each winery/tasting room will be labeled with the name exactly as it is entered into the Location Name field in Step 2 of the Map Editor.  On the paper maps, if a collection of small vineyard shapes (blocks) all have the same Vineyard / Block name we will use one label for the entire collection (see picture below). If no name is entered in the Vineyard / Block name field we will use the Organization Name.
